Care for Harford County families

Harford County is a federally designated mental health professional shortage area, with its current designation dated May 2026. The county’s 2025–2030 health improvement plan made behavioral health its first priority. Aberdeen Proving Ground, home to Kirk U.S. Army Health Clinic, is also in the county.

Our Bethesda office is about 60–76 miles (83–101 minutes in light traffic) from Bel Air and nearby towns, so most Harford County families see us by telehealth. Therapy and psychiatric visits, including evaluations, can happen from home.

Early childhood services and local needs

About the drive to Bethesda

From Bel Air, the route follows MD 24 to I-95 south, through Baltimore, and onto the Capital Beltway. Allow about an hour and a half without traffic, and more at rush hour.

For most Harford County clients, that makes telehealth the everyday choice, with in-person visits only if you want them.

  • Bel Air to our Bethesda office: about 68 miles, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes without traffic, by MD 24, I-95, I-895 and I-495.
  • Aberdeen to our Bethesda office: about 72 miles, roughly 1 hour 35 minutes without traffic, by I-95, I-895 and I-495.

Distances and times are estimates for normal driving conditions. Traffic, weather and bridge delays can add time.
