Care for Talbot County
Our core services are available to Talbot County residents.
Care for Talbot County families
Easton is home to UM Shore Medical Center at Easton. The Mid-Shore region’s 2025 behavioral health assessment named mental health the top issue affecting residents and found that hard-to-navigate services and limited provider availability keep many from getting help.
Our Bethesda office is about 78–102 miles (107–150 minutes in light traffic) from Easton and nearby towns, so most Talbot County families see us by telehealth. Therapy and psychiatric visits, including evaluations, can happen from home.
Early childhood services and local needs
In Talbot County, the Infants & Toddlers Program (birth to 3) and Child Find (age 3 and up) share one intake line: 410-822-0330 x436.
Talbot County has more mental health clinicians per resident than the state average (County Health Rankings 2025), but finding the right fit and an opening can still take time. In 2022, 33.0% of Talbot County high school students said they had felt sad or hopeless for two weeks or more in the past year (Maryland YRBS).
If you’d like to visit Bethesda
From Easton, US 50 west crosses the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and meets the Capital Beltway. Allow close to two hours without traffic, and more on summer weekends.
Because that’s a long trip for a weekly session, most Talbot County clients choose telehealth.
- Easton to our Bethesda office: about 79 miles, roughly 1 hour 50 minutes without traffic, by US 50 and I-495.
- St. Michaels to our Bethesda office: about 89 miles, roughly 2 hours 5 minutes without traffic, by MD 33, US 50 and I-495.
Distances and times are estimates for normal driving conditions. Traffic, weather and bridge delays can add time.

Questions from Talbot County
Who do I call if I’m worried about my child’s development in Talbot County?
Call 410-822-0330 x436. In Talbot County, the same line handles the Infants & Toddlers Program (birth to 3) and Child Find (age 3 and up). You can also refer a child under 3 online at referral.mditp.org. Both are free.
What is the difference between Child Find and a medical evaluation?
Child Find is run by the school system and decides eligibility for special education. A medical evaluation is done by a clinician and can lead to a formal diagnosis, which TRICARE’s autism program and some other plans require. Blue Sails offers autism evaluations.
