I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 9 years of experience in the psychiatric area, including inpatient care for children and adults, crisis stabilization in the community, and drug abuse treatment. I earned an associate’s degree and then a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. I worked as a psychiatric nurse in an inpatient hospital. While pursuing my PMHNP at Husson University, I worked in psych units, long-term facilities, and community mental health crisis stabilization and drug addiction treatment centers.

My primary focus is on treating mood disorders {which includes depression, bipolar}, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, ODD, trauma, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, and chronic mental disease in children and adult clients aged 6 to adulthood through psychiatric examination, medication management, and brief psychosocial intervention. I believe in developing a tailored plan of care that includes patient input, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
My strengths as a PMHNP are honesty, respect, and patience. To build trust with my patient, I must be honest. Respect is crucial; my patients must feel respected as an individual. This will help to establish a patient-practitioner relationship, which can benefit the patient’s mental health. I also believe that patience is essential for a successful PMHNP.

I have several qualities that make me an effective PMHNP, including strong communication skills, patience, and compassion. These skills play an important role in assisting my patients to achieve their healing and can also help me create therapeutic relationships with them.

My goal for my clients is to feel empowered to gain their healing by providing helpful education in a stigma-free setting.

A client’s first appointment will include a thorough mental evaluation, setting of treatment goals, and education regarding diagnosis and possible treatment choices. I have the pleasure of working with many excellent and experienced therapists, and I am pleased to collaborate and coordinate care with them when it is appropriate for the clients’ requirements.
