Who do I call if I’m worried about my child’s development in Kent County?

Call 410-778-7164. In Kent County, the same line handles the Infants & Toddlers Program (birth to 3) and Child Find (age 3 and up). You can also refer a child under 3 online at referral.mditp.org. Both are free.

What is the difference between Child Find and a medical evaluation?

Child Find is run by the school system and decides eligibility for special education. A medical evaluation is done by a clinician and can lead to a formal diagnosis, which TRICARE’s autism program and some other plans require. Blue Sails offers autism evaluations.

I’m a veteran in Kent County. Can Blue Sails help?

There’s no VA clinic in Kent County. VA Maryland’s Mid-Shore site is the Cambridge VA Clinic, 830 Chesapeake Dr, Cambridge; Perry Point VA Medical Center is north in Cecil County. Blue Sails offers therapy and psychiatric care for veterans and military families. If you get your care through VA, ask your VA care team what options you have, and call us to talk through yours.
